When is an online fracture consultation useful?
Once you have an X-ray, a great deal can be done online. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali often helps patients with:
- X-ray review — understanding exactly what the break is and how serious it is.
- Cast vs surgery vs rest — an honest explanation of what your fracture actually needs.
- Second opinion — before agreeing to fracture surgery.
- Healing and follow-up — checking that the bone is recovering properly and guiding rehabilitation.
- Post-operative follow-up — if you have already had surgery and want expert review.
Does every fracture need surgery?
No. Many fractures heal well with a cast or splint and do not need an operation, while some genuinely do — it depends on the bone, the pattern of the break, and how the fragments are sitting. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali will look at your X-ray himself and give you a clear, honest answer. If surgery has been advised, an independent second opinion is often worthwhile first.
My fracture healed but it still hurts — why?
Bone healing and full recovery are two different timelines. Lingering pain or stiffness after a fracture is common — often from being immobilised, weakened muscle, or sometimes irritation from metalwork. In your consultation Dr. Ahmed can tell you whether things are settling normally or whether a repeat X-ray is needed.

Can a fracture be managed with an online consultation?
A fresh, severe injury needs a hospital first. But once you have an X-ray, Dr. Ahmed can review it online, explain whether it needs a cast, surgery or rest, and guide your healing and follow-up. Online is especially useful for X-ray review, second opinions and follow-up.
How do I share my X-ray for review?
A clear phone photo is usually enough — hold the film against a window or bright screen and photograph it straight on, and include the report if you have it. We tell you where to send it once your appointment is confirmed.
My fracture healed months ago but still hurts — is that normal?
Healing and full recovery are different timelines. Lingering pain is common, often from immobilisation, weakened muscle or hardware irritation. Dr. Ahmed can tell you whether it is settling normally or needs a repeat X-ray.
Does my fracture need surgery?
Many fractures heal with a cast and do not need surgery, while some do. It depends on the bone and the break. Dr. Ahmed will review your X-ray and give an honest opinion — a second opinion before fracture surgery is often worthwhile.
How much does a fracture review cost?
Rs 5,000 per session — including review of your X-ray, a clear explanation of your injury and healing, and a written follow-up plan.
